Permaculture Garden Design
This garden was designed with a productive plan with over 15 fruit and herb species around the property, a pollinator paradise and butterfly garden, a sweet spot with a stock tank pool for the family, a natural stone fire pit and drinking sources for the fauna. Five ton of river pebbles and selected specialty rocks for the firepit area went into this project to create a beautiful, growing, self sustainable garden. The layout provided a comfortable and lovely oasis for this family as they enjoyed the interaction with nature and the fruits and herbs that the garden produced. This garden was yet to grow into a fuller food forest, easy to handle as all the species selected were of medium to smaller size to keep it manageable yet full and healthy. Weather you wanted to enjoy a refreshing and relaxing time in the pool, birdwatching in a beautiful afternoon or a cozy fire at night, the river pebble surface provided pleasant functionality within its areas, making all activities very enjoyable and easy. In addition to it’s wonderful characteristics, the pebble area acts as a fantastic water filter after heavy rains and storms, keeping the area well drained and easy to maintain. The interconnected design for this garden was yet to create more areas for the family as the garden grew into the long term plan as a multifunctional permaculture garden.
